HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 28-year-old Hutchinson man already charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior can add a third.
Christopher Mayberry was back before a judge Wednesday where he was read the complaint saying that he exposed himself to another person while inside the Reno County Correctional Facility. This crime occurred on Jan. 26, according to the criminal complaint. The other two crimes occurred on Jan. 20, also inside the jail.
Last Friday, Judge Tim Chambers ordered a mental evaluation before deciding whether Mayberry violated his community corrections for convictions of burglary and sexual battery.
Mayberry indicated in court Wednesday that, so far, no one from Horizons Mental Health Center has seen him for that evaluation. All three cases are on hold until that is complete.
In the earlier case, Mayberry was convicted of aggravated burglary for going into a residence in the 600 block of East 9th. Once in the home, Mayberry touched a 16-year-old for his own sexual pleasure.
Mayberry is no stranger to law enforcement, he served time in prison for drugs, criminal damage, and burglary. Those cases go back to 2007 and 2008.
