A McPherson County man waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday and entered “not guilty” pleas in a case filed in McPherson County District Court as a result of an accident that injured a McPherson teacher.

McPherson County Attorney David Page says Jeffrey Paul Davis has entered pleas of “not guilty” to two counts of aggravated battery and DUI.

The Court then set jury trial in the case for April 9, 2014. The trial is scheduled to last two days according to Page.

Davis has not posted bond, so he remains in the custody of the McPherson County Sheriff.
