McPherson County woman sentenced for Wichita bank robbery

WICHITA – A 52-year-old McPherson County woman has been sentenced to 51-months in federal prison for bank robbery, She also was ordered to pay $15,520 in restitution. Vicki L. Arce of Moundridge pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery.

In her plea, she admitted that on April 30, 2009, she robbed the Telephone Employee’s Credit Union at 270 N. Broadway in Wichita.

She handed the teller a plain, white envelope and said, “I need your cash.” She told the teller, “Don’t mess with me. There’s someone in the car with a gun.” The teller gave her cash and she left the bank.

In the orginal indictment, she was accused of a number of robberies in the area.

On June 9, 2011, Arce robbed the White Eagle Credit Union, 300 West Broadway, in Newton.

On that same date, she attempted to rob the Home State Bank, 201 South Centennial, in McPherson.

On Jan. 27, she robbed the Peoples Bank and Trust, 601 East 30th Street, here Hutchinson.

On Dec. 30, 2010, Arce robbed the Bank of Kansas, 524 N. Main Street, in South Hutchinson.

But, she entered a plea in just one of the robberies and again received the 51-months, or 4-years and 3-months.
