Melanie Jayne Sodowsky, 64, of Hutchinson, died March 19, 2017, at Brookdale of Hutchinson. She was born June 10, 1952, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Melvin and Patricia (Engler) Miller.
Melanie graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1970, was a member of Bethany Church of the Nazarene and was a Speech Para for USD 313. Melanie married Kim Holland April 17, 1971. She later married Randy Sodowsky on June 25, 2001, in Lake Tahoe. He survives. Other survivors include: children, Jason Holland (Annette) of Hutchinson, Valerie DeMoranville (David) of San Diego, Calif., and Jennifer Holland of San Diego, Calif.; granddaughters, Madelyn and Lauryn Holland of Hutchinson; siblings, Phillip Miller (Debbie) of Hutchinson, Scott Miller of Tulsa, Okla., and Annette Holmquist (Bobby) of Hutchinson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents and infant son, Jeremy Holland.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery presiding. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
