HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Fire units were dispatched to the 3200 block of North Malloy on the report of a structure fire early Tuesday morning. When they arrived, they found flames coming from the side of an attached garage.

The fire was controlled in 10 minutes with units on the scene for 1 1/2 hours. Damage is estimated at $5,000 and was sustained to the exterior of the garage and minor damage to the attic.

The cause of the fire was disposal of charcoal coals in a poly cart.

The residence was occupied by four people, but no one was injured.

The fire was called in by a newspaper delivery person around 3 a.m.

Hutchinson Fire responded six units.
