During the late morning hours Monday, several inmates in the Hutchinson Correctional Facility’s Segregation Unit began to act up. They apparently set three small fires on the walkway outside of their cells according to prison officials, then threw urine on several officers.

In keeping with standard safety procedures, the officers were sent to the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for examination. Having sustained no injuries, all of the officers were allowed to return to work following examination.

Whether the inmates involved with this incident will face charges is unknown.
