WICHITA, Kan. – The Hutchinson Monarchs scored in 3 of the first 4 innings to lead 7-0 over the Dodge City A’s Tuesday afternoon at Eck Stadium in Wichita as the pool play bracket games got under way.  Riley Taylor was solid on the mound for the Monarchs although Dodge City did push a run across in the top of the 7th. Taylor went 8 innings, giving up only 3 hits. Dawson Linder came on in relief to finish out the ninth.  Hutchinson eliminated Dodge City by a 7-1 score.

Hutchinson will now take on the Great Bend Bat Cats in the late game on Wednesday at 9:30 pm.

Great Bend scored 3 runs in the 8th inning to edge the Wichita Sluggers 6-3 late on Tuesday.
