Whitchurch’s 4 RBI’s lead Monarchs past Andale 8-4

HUTCHINSON, Kan.—Brayden Whitchurch went 3 for 5 with 4 RBI’s and Dylan Nedved went 3 for 3 to lead the Hutchinson Monarchs to their 2nd win in a row over the Andale Warhawks.  Joshua Fortenberry went 6 innings and recorded 8 strikeouts for the win. Carson Cornelius provided a solid relief effort and went the remaining 3 innings logging 3 strikeouts, but walked 4 batters.

Hutchinson has a double header scheduled for Monday with a 6:00 pm first pitch versus the Wichita Sluggers.  The Monarchs travel to Great Bend Tuesday, then return home for games on Wednesday and Thursday night to wrap up the regular season.  Playoff match ups will be named after Thursday by the Sunflower League office.
