GREAT BEND – More information has been released in the shooting death investigation of a 25-year-old Great Bend man.

After the body of Damon Galyardt was discovered Saturday morning, the Barton County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Great Bend Police Department and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation have been investigating the death as a 1st degree murder.

At 8 p-m, Saturday night, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Great Bend in connection with the shooting death of Galyardt. After obtaining information from interviews, a second warrant was executed, which provided law enforcement with some more information and evidence.

Later that same day, a vehicle was recovered that may have been involved with the case. It’s being held for forensic testing and no results have been released at this time.

All aspects of the case are being investigated in a joint effort by the three law enforcement agencies.
