More strip shopping in Hutchinson’s future

Local developer Jim Strawn of Strawn Contracting who put together the North Pointe Center at 30th & Lorraine in Hutchinson is about to develop another strip shopping center in Hutchinson.

He tells us that he bought land 17th & Lorraine once owned by Kroger, the parent company of Dillon’s, and plans to break ground on the property early next spring.

The strip center would have 15-thousand square feet, however a larger tennant may be added at 55-thousand-square- feet.

Strawn says he also hopes to add a restaurant of some type in the center as well. He couldn’t release details of potential tennants at this time. He says the center will be developed in phases with the first being built next year.

The land has set vacant for some time and has been ready for development. There is a Central Bank and Trust branch, as well as Envista Credit Union on the edges of the property.
