HUTCHINSON, Kan. – County Administrator Gary Meagher during the county commission meeting Tuesday went over the Mortgage Registration Tax and the Recording Fee for the month of January.
It continues to show a decline on the amount the county collected for the Mortgage Tax. In January, the county collected $25,550.00. That’s a continued drop from December when they collected $38,797, and from January of last year when they brought in $34,686.
The Recording Fee for January was down compared to December of last year, but was higher then in January of last year. The county collected $18,195, in January, which is down from December when they brought in $20,959. But it is higher then January of last year when he price was $15,410.
