NEWTON – A motorcycle accident in Harvey County led to a Newton man being taken to a local hospital.

28-year-old Erick James Lujuano was south bound on I-135 according to the Kansas Highway Patrol in the inside lane. He struck several hay bales which were in the roadway, then lost control of the motorcycle. It then slid 400-feet down the highway.

He was taken to the Newton Medical Center for treatment, with the accident occurring just after 1:30 p-m Wednesday afternoon, 4.4 miles north of 125th Street or at the Sedgwick County line in Harvey County.
