A 69-year-old Mt. Hope man was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center Thursday afternoon as a precaution after a one vehicle accident on Yoder Road.

According to officials with the Reno County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy David Post was dispatched to the accident location at Yoder Rd., and Castleton Rd., for the report of a non injury accident.

When he arrived, he noticed a black Grand Prix in a field on the west side of the road just North of Castleton Rd. He spoke to the driver Joseph Reznick who was visibly shaken. He was also complaining of neck and back pain. Haven E-M-S was notified and he transported to the hospital.

Reznick stated he only remembered driving south and the steering wheel becoming loose. But, upon further investigation, sheriff officials indicate that he was traveling south on Yoder Rd., when his right wheels slipped off of the roadway into the west ditch. He over-corrected causing the vehicle to begin sliding sideways into a steep ditch on the west side of the road and rolled the vehicle. The vehicle landed on its passenger side and Reznick was wearing his seat-belt during the accident.

A barbed wire fence suffered maybe 100-dollars damage from the accident which occurred just after 3 p-m Thursday.
