Much Cooler With Chance Of Showers; First Freeze Possible Wednesday

Today: A 30 percent chance of showers after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Northeast wind between 7 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Tonight: A 40 percent chance of showers before 1am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 41. North northwest wind between 10 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

The first freezing temperatures of the season may be possible late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning across much of the area. A ridge of high pressure will develop south over central Kansas with clearing skies and light winds expected towards morning.

This will allow temperatures to plummet into the low 30s with areas of frost and the potential for freezing or near freezing temperatures early Thursday morning.
