Murder suspect Billy Craig Jr., after recently being assigned a new attorney is expected in court Friday for a pre-trial hearing, but not over the murder case, but over a drug case from last year.
In that case, Craig is charged with sale of methamphetamine within a thousand feet of a school, attempted sale of meth, possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia to package, possession of marijuana and identity theft.
This case occurring between June 1 and July 2, 2011.
Craig along with co-defendant Charles Christopher Logsdon are also charged with the murder of Jennifer Heckel last summer.
Craig is also alleged to have been involved in a conspiracy to commit crimes associated with a fake driver’s licenses along with Kylie Hartman and Kasey Pisoni. Pisoni entered a plea in the case, while the charges against Hartman were dropped, however the state is expected to refile the charges.
Friday’s hearing is scheduled in front of Judge Trish Rose
