SALINA, Kan. — The Hutchinson Salthawks (2-12) fell to the Salina Central Mustangs 50-38 on Tuesday night.

The first quarter was slow, but Salina Central managed a 7-5 lead after one.

The Mustangs quickly extended that advantage in the second quarter and went up 24-9 at halftime.

Salina Central hit 10 3-pointers, eight of those came from Harper Williams.

Hutchinson started the third quarter strong with a 10-1 run to momentarily close the gap. However, the Mustangs soon shook off the slow start out of the locker room and finished the third quarter with a seven-point lead.

The Salthawks lacked defense, making it easy for the Mustangs to score quickly.
