HUTCHINSON Kan. — Hutchinson Fire has released the name of the person injured in a house

explosion early Thursday morning. The female has been identified as 47-year-old Theresa Kappel. She is listed in stable condition at a Wichita Hospital. .

Kappel was in a home in the 1500 blk. of E 2nd when fire swept through the home around 2:20 a.m. Fire crews arrived to find the home fully involved and Kappel at a nearby home. She was treated by EMS and then taken to Wichita.

The cause of the fire may be a loose fitting on a gas line, but no official cause has been given at this time. The home was a total loss, and other than Kappel there were no other injuries.
