A Nickerson man was expected to enter a plea in Reno County District Court on marijuana distribution charges, but in court decided against entering the plea, saying he has a new defense strategy.

Armando Corral is accused of marijuana distribution charges where the state says he was using the telephone on a number of occasions to make the drug transactions including the sale of marijuana. In at least one case, he’s accused of selling the pot to an undercover KBI agent. The state has also charged him with multiple counts of no drug tax stamp.

The alleged crimes are said to have began on September 28, 2004 and the last one occurring on October 23, 2006.

With the decision not to enter a plea, District Judge Trish Rose placed back on the trial docket and tentatively scheduled now for November 1.

District Judge Trish Rose recently granted the defense request for an interpreter when the case goes to trial, that over the objection of the state, who argue that language has never seem to be an obstacle in previous hearings.
