A 48-year-old Nickerson man jailed Friday evening on a couple of serious charges after he allegedly ran his vehicle into a trailer in the 500 block of Porter, made a first appearance on the charges Monday morning.

Carl Holder will remain jailed on a bond of 25-thousand, 350-dollars on charges of aggravated battery, domestic violence, a second count of aggravated battery, two counts of criminal damage to property, and illegal transportation of liquor.

He requested a reduction of his bond when he made a court appearance Monday morning saying he has a job, plus didn’t feel what he did was that big of a deal. But, Assistant District Attorney Andrew Davidson argued that he believes the bond is appropriate because of his past criminal history, which includes previous convictions in both Reno and McPherson counties of battery, DUI and disorderly conduct. Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen denied the bond request and set it for a status hearing on Wednesday.

The incident occurring around 8:30 p-m Friday evening, and police spotted him afterward in the 1600 block of East 6th, where he was arrested without incident.
