NICKERSON, Kan. — Seven Nickerson students will be on their way to Mason, Michigan, next month for the National Trap Shooting Championships.

Five shooters and two alternates will make the trip for the event, which begins July 12. The five members of the team are: Joe Tuxhorn, Chris Oden, Matthew Meadows, David Graham and Eric Malecki. The two alternates are Jordon Smith and Clayton Edwards. The competition features 2,000 of the best clay shooters in the nation.

The team was informed of its selection last Friday. The students are now trying to raise funds for the 1,800 mile roundtrip and three days of lodging.
