HUTCHINSON, Kan. — One of two people arrested on drug-related charges back on May 19 after they were alleged to have been involved in a hit-and-run accident is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Thursday.

Forty-year-old Jason Fike of Wichita was arrested in the 300 block of South Pershing and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute, felony interference with law enforcement and three alternate counts of flee and elude.

There were also reports of him being sought by federal marshals for a bank robbery case with the warrant out of Virginia. However, the warrant didn’t specify where the robbery took place.

The co-defendant, thirty-nine-year-old Kandra B. Carter of Haysville, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute and interference with law enforcement.

The hearing for Fike is scheduled in front of Judge Joe McCarville.

He remains jailed on a $12,500 bond.
