One person was killed and two were injured in a wreck involving three vehicles about 2 miles south of McPherson on K-61 just after 3 pm Friday afternoon. According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.

A van driven by 80 year old Flora May Larkin of McPherson, was traveling eastbound in westbound K61 lanes. An SUV driven by 22 year old Damon Dechant of Kit Carson Colorado, had passed a car driven by 22 year old Trica Carr of Hutchinson, and the van traveling towards them. The SUV slowed and began to move into right lane to avoid contact. The car made avoidance manuever around the SUV and over-corrected swerving back into south lane where the van collided with the front right corner of the car.

Larkin was killed in the crash. Carr and a passenger 22 year old Joshua Peppiatt of Hutchinson were injured and taken to McPherson Memorial Hospital for treatment of inuries. Peppiatt was later transferred to Via Christi in Wichita. No one in the SUV were hurt.
