One of two men arrested early Thursday on charges associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine saw his bond increased from 31-thousand, 500-dollars to 50-thousand when he made a first appearance Friday morning in front of Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen.

31-year-old Jason Hoffman of Nickerson remains jailed, while with 31-year-old Nicholas Wasinger was able to post bond of 83-thousand, 100-dollars.

Hutchinson Police Officer Curtis Black stopped the vehicle the two men were on a routine traffic matter, but that led to a search of their vehicle and the two being arrested on meth manufacturing charges.

Potential charges against the two include unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unapproved container, possession of lithium or ephedrine with intent to manufacture, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture, criminal use of a weapon, interference with law enforcement, and no proof of insurance.

The officer made the stop around 2:30 a-m Thursday morning in the 500 block of 30th.

Because Wasinger was able to post bond, he’ll make his initial court appearance sometime next week.
