One of two injured in crash earlier this month passes away

One of two elderly South Hutchinson residents who was taken to a Wichita hospital in critical condition back on January 9 has passed away according to family members.

85-year-old Lola Parsons had initially complained of multiple injuries and was first taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, but was then taken to Wichita in what was said to be critical condition.

She along with 87-year-old Donald Parsons were both taken to the hospital after the accident.

Donald Parsons was northbound on Adams when a westbound vehicle driven by 75-year-old Betty Burnett ran a stop light and hit the passenger side of Parson’s vehicle, with their vehicle then striking a utility pole.

Burnett was not injured in the crash.
