One of two men arrested Sunday evening after the vehicle they were in was stopped by Hutchinson Police was in court again Wednesday morning.
Kiel Bale along with Rusty Shawn Decker both face charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute and no drug tax stamp. Bale made another appearance this morning where the formal charges were read to him. He’s free on a 15-hundred dollar bond.
The case starts with Officer David Post spotting a black Ford Expedition driving north on Plum from 17th. The vehicle then turned east on 30th, then turned south on Acres Rd. The vehicle then stopped in the 2800 block of Acres, where the officer then made contact with the two men inside.
They discovered Decker had some warrants and he was placed under arrest, and then the officer says he smelled marijuana. They discovered a small black container with suspected marijuana, then inside a speaker box, they found more suspected pot which weighed about 30-grams. Also found was some coin baggies, and a silver scale.
Neither would except responsibility for the pot and both were arrested.
Decker was also jailed for other charges of criminal damage to property, and battery, intentional reckless bodily harm. He’s free on bond and should make an appearance in court at a later time.
The case against Bale will now be placed on a waiver-status docket.
