One person was taken to the hospital in Pratt after a two vehicle accident Wednesday morning at the intersection of Olcott and Smoots Creek in southwest Reno County.
According to the Reno County Sheriff’s Office, 66-year-old David L. Young of Kingman was east bound in his Buick Lacrosse and approaching the intersection. He slowed down and thought the intersection was clear. But, as he entered the intersection, a loaded 1996 Mack dump truck went through heading north. The Buick struck the rear axle of the dump truck.
The driver of the dump truck, 20-year-old Bryce A. Nelson of Hutchinson was not injured, but a passenger in the Buick, 26-year-old Alma Young also of Kingman was transported to Pratt Regional Medical Center with chest pains. A 4-year-old, also a passenger in the Buick was not injured.
Everyone involved with the accident were wearing their seat-belts according to sheriff officials.
The accident occurring just around 10:50 a-m, Wednesday morning.
