TOPEKA – An Ottawa man has been found guilty of financial abuse of a 95-year-old woman.

65-year-old Guadalupe Mora on Monday entered a plea of no contest to one count of mistreatment of a dependent adult and one count of theft in Franklin County District Court. The plea was accepted by District Judge Thomas Sachse, who entered a finding of guilty in the case. Yesterday’s action resolves charges filed by the attorney general last April.

The court scheduled sentencing for February 27. As part of the plea agreement, the parties are recommending restitution be paid to the victim in the amount of $90,431.
