PARK CITY, (Kan.) — Josh Grant held up his end of the bargain, but Josh couldn’t pilot Hutchinson Monarchs past the Park City Rangers as Hutchinson Monarchs lost 7-3 at Word of Life on Friday.

The Park City Rangers couldn’t get anything going so long as Josh was on the hill. Josh held the Park City Rangers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Brandon Phelps got the win for the Park City Rangers. He allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings. Brandon struck out four, walked two and gave up three hits.

Garrett Hoover ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just one inning, walked three, struck out none, and allowed four runs.

The Park City Rangers didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring three runs in the first inning when they scored on a two-run single by Charlie Sipe.

It didn’t take long for the Park City Rangers to answer as they scored one run of their own in the second. The Park City Rangers scored on a passed ball.

The Park City Rangers answered Hutchinson Monarchs’ top inning with two runs of their own in the sixth. The Park City Rangers scored on an RBI single by Charlie and a fielder’s choice.
