HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A local man reported to police that he was beaten and robbed at his residence in the 500 block of West 10th, Thursday evening.

Hutchinson Police tell us that the 34-year-old victim invited the suspect over, but then 31-year-old Joseph Ryan Taber attacked the victim knocking him unconscious. When the victim woke up, he saw his TV was gone and called police. Police say the victim was bleeding from his head when they arrived.

Police were able to track down Taber and he was arrested on a charge of aggravated robbery, possession of drugs and paraphernalia. His bond set at $55,500

This occurring around 7:40 p.m.

In court, he was told of the potential charges and bond was left the same. He’ll be back in court next Friday for the reading of any formal charges.

Taber was just released from prison in April for convictions of burglary and theft in 2014.
