Person of Interest Interviewed in Prairie Dunes Theft Cases.

There could be a break in the search for those responsible for a rash of thefts around the Prairie Dunes area. On a tip from the South Hutchinson Police Department, investigators with the Reno County Sheriff’s Office and agents with the Kansas State Parole office talked to a subject at 1001 E 12th in Hutchinson.

After conducting a preliminary investigation, a search warrant was executed Monday evening at that home. Items consistent with property reported from recent burglaries in the Prairie Dunes/Linksland Drive area were seized.

A person of interest has been identified, but so far, has not been arrested. Detectives were doing follow up interviews and contacting victims to positively identify property.

The Sheriffs Department says that the investigation is ongoing due to the large amount of property seized and the number of burglaries reported.

Under-Sheriff Sheldon Stewart said that they hope to release more information including the suspects name by sometime Wednesday.
