Phone call to 911 puts law enforcement on alert

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A number of Hutchinson police officers and Reno County sheriff’s deputies raced to Walmart in Hutchinson this morning.

According to Reno County 911, a call came in around 8:40 a.m. that police say threatened violence at Walmart. Police say the call came from an untraceable number. As a precaution, law enforcement was on the scene to make sure nothing was occurring.

Walmart officials say they did not receive any threats, nor do they have any disgruntled current or former employees that could have made such a call.

No arrests have been made.
