HUTCHINSON, Kan. — It was a good weekend for the postal service food drive to help the Reno County Food Bank.

The initial numbers show 25,135 pounds of food was collected. That number is better than last year when more than 23,000 pounds of food was collected. The record of 26,000 pounds was set in 2017.

The post office will still be picking up food today and Tuesday. If the food you left near your mailbox was not picked up, you need to let postal officials know.

The final total should be calculated Wednesday.
