The 19-year-old Pratt man taken into custody last week after deputies with the Pratt County Sheriff’s Department investigated numerous burglaries now faces more charges. That according to new information from that department.

Landon Hlavachick is being held in the Pratt County Jail on a 35-thousand dollar bond for 1-count of aggravated burglary, 4-counts of burglary, 1-count of felony theft, 1-count of misdemeanor theft, 1-count of criminal damage and 1-count of criminal trespass.

His arrest is part of the investigation of burglaries and a stolen car in that county which started in the the early morning hours of March 27.

Shortly after 8:00 a-m on March 27, a 2000 Mercury was discovered in field just north of Iuka. Shortly after finding the abandoned Mercury, Sheriff’s Officers got a call that a vehicle had been stolen from a residence northeast of Iuka.

At approximately 5:30 p-m, Sheriff’s Officers were called the scene of another burglary approximately 7-miles north of Cullison.

Then at approximately 2:30 a-m, on March 28, they responded to a call of a residential burglary approximately 8-miles north of Cullison with the suspect in the house. The homeowner allegedly discovered Hlavachick and a deputy quickly took him into custody.

Following leads from this burglary, sheriff’s officers followed footprints and tire tracks from the burglary 8-miles north of Cullison and located the stolen car that was reported on March 27. The 2005 Lincoln was found approximately 12-miles west and 8-miles north of Pratt.

As sheriff’s officers continued to follow leads they discovered another burglary and notified the owners of a building approximately 8-miles north and 9-miles west of Pratt. Sheriff’s Officers also recovered many items that were stolen while tracking the suspect on foot from one crime scene to another.

They say that officers worked non-stop on these cases for nearly 36-hours. The work involved a lot of back country tracking and following other leads.
