MCPHERSON – For the third time, the dates for the preliminary hearing for two men accused in the death of a Tabor football player has changed.

According to McPherson County Attorney David Page, the preliminary hearings are now scheduled in McPherson County District Court for 1:00 p-m. on Monday, January 21, 2013.

19-year-old Dequinte Oshea Flourney and 19-year-old Alton Franklin, both of Dallas, Texas, are charged with aiding and abetting 2nd degree murder. Both are being held in the McPherson County Jail on a half million dollar bond.

The charges against the two men coming after 26-year-old Brandon Brown, a Tabor football player died after a disturbance in the early morning of September 16, in McPherson. Brown was found in the 400 block of North Carrie and sustained critical injuries as a result of the altercation. He was taken to Via-Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center where he died at 10:16 p-m, on Saturday September 22.

Again, the hearing continued Monday and will be held possibly next month.

If convicted of the charges they both face a range of 109-to-143 months, and a fine up to $3000.00 on the charge. Both were football players at McPherson College.
