LAWRENCE (AP) – University of Kansas officials say someone stole about $1,600 worth of painkillers from the Watkins Health Center.

University spokeswoman Jill Jess says the theft occurred sometime between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning, when a pharmacy employee arrived for work.

Jess says there were no obvious signs of a break-in. University police are investigating whether more than one person was involved in the theft.
