HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Today is the city and school board primary election. There are just two races the city of Hutchinson will be watching.

In the race for the Hutchinson City Council at large, incumbent Dave Inskeep will be challenged by Sara Bagwell, Ceeley Williams, and Nicholas Lam.

The other race is in the Southeast district City Council race where Steve Dechant is being opposed by Andy Anderson, Steven Garza and Charles Johnston.

The candidates with the two highest vote totals will move on to the November election.

In the Northeast District Jade Piros de Carvalho will be opposed by Lovella Kelly and Joshua Naiman in the general election.

In The Highlands, residents will be voting on a $30,000 tax bill that would be used to city services. The vote comes after a resolution was passed in July seeking the extra funds for the new community.
