HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Several local state and national positions are up for election during the primary.

For the U.S. House of Representatives, incumbent Roger Marshall is being opposed by Inman resident Nick Reinecker.

The race for governor is heavily contested. On the Democrat side, Arden Andersen, Jack Bergeson, Carl Brewer, Laura Kelly and Josh Svaty make up that side of the ballot. On the very-crowded Republican side, the ballot includes Gov. Jeff Colyer, Kris Kobach, Jim Barnett, Tyler Ruzich, Pat Kucera, Ken Selzer, and Joseph Tulera.

In the race for Secretary of State, Republicans in the race include Randy Duncan, Keith Esau, Craig McCullah, Scott Schwab, and Dennis Taylor.

In the race for Attorney General, incumbent Derek Schmidt will be opposed by out-of-state candidate Vermin Supreme.

There is a race on the Republican side for Insurance Commissioner, where Clark Schulz and Vicki Schmidt are on the ballot.

Closer to home, the race for the 104th district seat in the Kansas House includes incumbent Steven Becker and Paul Waggoner. The Reno County Commission seat in the first district features Ron Sellers and Kris Knowles vying for the seat being vacated by Dan Deming.

Polls are open until 7 p.m. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by the end of the day today. Ballots returned in person must be dropped off at the clerk’s office by 7 p.m.
