The 20-year-old suspect in the Halloween Shooting was scheduled to be in court Thursday for a probation violation hearing in prior drug case, but that’s now been pushed back till after the preliminary hearing in the murder case.

Isaac Devante Beltran is facing charges of 2nd degree intentional murder and criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was arrested as a result of the shooting death of 26-year-old Dustin Brooks in the alley behind the home where Beltran lived 203 North Cleveland Halloween night.

Brooks suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and died after emergency surgery failed at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

Beltran has been on community corrections for a drug conviction which goes back to December of 2010 and the motion to revoke his corrections will be heard by District Judge Tim Chambers, but not yet according to the judge.

Beltran’s murder case is still pending a preliminary hearing which is currently scheduled for January 14. He remains jailed with a bond of 150-thousand dollars.

No new date has been set for the community corrections violation hearing according to the judge but is expected to be 30-days down the road.
