When Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, underwent some restoration, bus service from R-Cat was moved from the hospital parking lot to nearby Waldron. Now, the hospital has asked the county to restore the service back to the parking lot, which the county and R-Cat officials are willing to do. If all goes as planned, service to the hospital campus could resume in Mid-February. The buses would stop at the hospitals northeast entrance.
However, it will come at a price for others. Recently, the TECH facilties on Kirby in eastern Hutchinson had been getting two stops, that would be cut down to just one, once the service is restored to the hospital.
It also ends hope of restoring service to two families along west 25th, who were getting curb service. R-Cat stopped running service on that street because of traffic concerns. That change was made in the recent past. But, with the extra time needed for the hospital, any hope of regaining service on west 25th appears to be gone.
Hutchinson Regional Medical Center began using the new name, the first of the year. Prior to that, they were known as Promise Regional Medical Center.
