HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Pam Wilson and Dana Davis devote their time and energy to making the Hutchinson community a better place to live by volunteering with numerous organizations, including the American Red Cross.

Wilson serves as the primary blood drive chairperson for the Hutchinson community blood drive, while Davis travels Reno county and beyond, promoting the Red Cross Pillowcase Project and Sound the Alarm campaign. Their service to the Red Cross, while in different areas, continues to impact countless citizens.

Wilson began volunteering in 2015. Her dedication to serving others creates an inviting atmosphere for donors and volunteers alike.

Davis has educated over 100 children and assisted with two Sound the Alarm campaigns. She enjoys the opportunity to help people and is grateful to volunteer with the Red Cross.

The Sound the Alarm campaign is part of a national effort to install 100,000 free smoke alarms in high-risk neighborhoods nationwide and has been enormously successful in the Hutchinson community. Sound the Alarm impacts the community by checking alarms and installing new ones if needed. This is an ongoing program in hopes that people will check their fire alarms.

Davis has been grateful for the time that she has volunteered with the Red Cross and invites others to volunteer alongside her.

Donations times and locations for this weeks blood drive are:

Monday – noon to 7 p.m.

Tuesday – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Wednesday – 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

all at the First Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Sherman St.

Then Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Red Cross Bloodmobile at East Ave. A Park
