Reno Co. driver hospitalized after he swerves to miss deer

RENO COUNTY — One person was injured in an accident just before 6:30a.m. Sunday in Reno County.

The Reno County Sheriff’s department reported a vehicle driven by Randy Christner, 62, was northbound in the 4900 Block of Wilson Road when he swerved to miss a deer cross the road.

The vehicle traveled off the road, struck an embankment and rolled. Reno County fire and EMS responded to the scene and checked Christner. He was transported by his wife to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Christner was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the sheriff’s department.
