HUTCHINSON —Sales tax revenue in Reno County fell for the month of June when compared to the same period last year.
Total revenue for the month was $344,962, compared to $347,927 in 2018.
Revenue was also down from the previous month by more than $43,000. June also broke a string of three consecutive months that sales tax revenue was higher than in 2018. It also shows the winding down of the CHS refinery turnaround that put an infusion of sales into the Hutchinson economy. Tax numbers for June reflect shopping trends in the month of April.
To date, the county has taken in $2,269,099 in 2019, ahead of last year’s pace.
