HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Commission held a hearing over next year’s budget as part of its meeting Tuesday morning and, other than county staff and the media, no one else attended.

The county budget for 2017 calls for a one mill increase over this year with the mill levy going from 40.897 mills to 41.897 mills.

The commission also approved a number of resolutions, approving various parts of the budget and policies associated with that budget.

The commission also made note that they will canvass the votes from last week’s election on Thursday. Commissioner Brad Dillon will apparently be on vacation that day, so someone else with the county will be appointed by the commission to help with that effort.
