The Reno County Commission pretty much approved everything on their agenda with the exception of County Commission pay.

Commissioner Dan Deming wanted it lowered again, from the current 18-thousand annually to 12-thousand, something the other two commissioners have not been in favor of in the past and were not willing to go along with again Tuesday.

And no one showed up for a public hearing on the budget for next year, so it passed with little fanfare. The mill levy stays the same as last year at 38.594-mills.

The commission also approved a proposal from Landmark Architects of Hutchinson to provide feasibility study services over the possibility of moving some county departments to the current jail annex, should the bond issue pass next spring authorizing the building of a new jail as well as the expense involved with moving these departments currently located in the courthouse.

The county also adjusted the policy for travel by county employees. For in-state travel, employees being approved first by the Department Director or Elected Official, and any out of state travel must be approved by the commission itself.
