HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Commission will go over the numbers for the 2020 budget during Tuesday’s meeting.
County Administrator Gary Meagher says the levy to fund the budget is targeted at 41.687 mills — $25,080,351. The mill levy would be unchanged from this year. However, the commission could increase the levy to 42.113 mills, spending $25,336,409.
Some of the budget figures include a salary adjustment for all eligible employees as well as the sheriff, county clerk, treasurer and register of deeds.
The proposed budget also includes $400,000 for economic development, two mills is dedicated to the special bridge fund for replacements and one mill is designated for the special road fund.
Also included is a transfer from the Health Department, $40,000 to fund the Capital Outlay.
$300,000 is budgeted in the Road and Bridge Fund and would be transferred to the Special Highway Fund.
The commission will discuss the budget at the end of the regular agenda session.
