Reno County Courts technically open Friday, but not much scheduled

Even though the Kansas Supreme Court postponed two of the remaining four furlough days scheduled for court employees and the closing of Kansas courts, don’t expect much action in the courts on Friday.

Most of the items on the Friday dockets had already been rescheduled prior to the announcement by Supreme Court Justice Lawton Nuss that they would delay the furlough days.

But, should you have business with the District Court such as paying fines, or other items related to the criminal and civil cases, the courthouse clerks will be at their desk Friday to assist you.

There may some court business added, since all the judges will be available for hearings through the day.

The statewide closing of all district and appellate courts set for Friday was postponed earlier this week and is now scheduled for Thursday, May 24, while the closing set for Friday, May 11, is postponed until Thursday, June 7.

The scheduled furlough days of Friday, May 25, and Friday, June 8, remain unchanged.
