police-lights

HAVEN, Kan. — Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Parallel and Rayl Roads just before 6 p.m. Friday. This involved a one-vehicle accident involving a combine. Sheriff officials say it appears it rolled off a bridge and into a culvert.

The driver, Leroy Schmidt, was ejected and trapped under the combine’s header. Haven EMS and Fire arrived on scene, freed him, then transported him to a Wichita hospital. He reportedly had injuries to his head and back.

The investigation is continuing by the Reno County Sheriff’s Office.
