Although the December sales tax numbers for Reno County were down ever so slightly from last month, they were well ahead of last year and helped the county beat last years yearly total by nearly 80-thousand dollars.
The numbers were released Wednesday by Reno County Treasure Clark Miller and they show that the county collected 359-thousand, 454-dollars in December which is down slightly from November totals when the county collected 359-thousand, 508-dollars, a difference of a whole 54-dollars.
But, the numbers beat the December totals last year when the county only brought in 332-thousand, 720-dollars, a difference of over 26-thousand, 700.
For the year, the county brought in a total of 4-million 95-thousand dollars, compared with 4-million, 15-thousand for 2010.
The totals for December represent sales made in the county in October.
