HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The 25-year-old man accused of committing a robbery in October of last year is scheduled to be in court Wednesday where he may enter a plea.

Tyler Lee Ford is accused of entering the KwikShop at 17th & Monroe just before 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 4 with a semi-automatic handgun and demanding cash.

Officers got a tip on the suspect, what he was wearing and where he lived. They then did a search of a home at 825 Lee and found evidence of the robbery.

Ford is also facing a charge of interference with law enforcement when he locked himself in the bathroom and refused to come out.

During a search of the residence, officers reportedly found clothing and a jacket he was wearing during the robbery with cash in one of the pockets.

He was eventually taken into custody.

The hearing is scheduled Wednesday in front of Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen.
