Have you ever wondered how much sales tax you pay locally when you go to the store or make purchases? The Kansas Department Of Revenue sent information Friday for each county and what the sales tax will be for that county as well as cities in the county.
The tax rate changes take effect Tuesday, Oct. 1.
On July 1, the state sales tax rate decreased to 6.15 percent but local taxing districts may have a higher sales tax rate.
Reno County voters approved at half-cent sales tax for a total of 1.50%, this for the construction of a new jail. The counties total tax is 7.65%.
